Firecrackers were new to us several years ago when we were in residency, and a fellow resident wife sent some to our spouse alliance bake sale. They were one of the first things to go, and were so popular that I knew I needed to figure out how to make them at home. Several years later, they are still one of our favorite snacks, especially around the holidays. They are simple and quick to make, and are irresistible to eat! They are the perfect for packaging up for gifts to neighbors and friends for Christmas (rather than laboring over some sort of baked good 😉), which is exactly what I’m doing this year!

Start with four sleeves of Saltine crackers. I like to line them up in a large Tupperware container, but if you are at peace with chaos, you can throw them all in a gallon Ziploc bag.

Mix up your spice mixture- 1 packet of ranch seasoning, garlic salt, red pepper flakes (the fire!), Salad Supreme seasoning, and vegetable or olive oil.

Pour the spice/ oil mixture over the crackers as evenly as possible. If you use the Tupperware method, put the lid on and shake gently (or turn upside down and rightside up a few times). If you use a Ziploc, seal it and gently shake to spread the seasoning and oil.

Team Tupperware is done! They will dry out over time, but are ready to eat after you finish shaking/ flipping. Team Ziploc can transfer to a storage container, or out on a platter for serving.

These are delicious by themselves, but I also love eating them with spinach artichoke dip, or as part of a charcuterie. They are the perfect addition to any holiday spread, or a great snack on their own!
