Happy Thursday, friends! We’re almost to the end of another week! We had a short week with a school holiday for MLK Jr. Day this week, so it’s felt like this week has flown by.
ONE
Typically (and usually hopefully 🤞🏻) once a year, Texas has one good snow/ice storm roll through. We had somewhat of one over the weekend, but it was a little better than they have been the last few years. The temperature dropped drastically through Saturday evening, and was in the low 20s all day Sunday. Since the temperature dropped before any moisture rolled in, we didn’t get any ice right off the bat, which is how it usually is. We had some flurries on Sunday through the night, but school was already off for Monday, plus nothing accumulated, so nothing really changed. We had a few days with below freezing temps, but everything was business as usual. As in typical Texas fashion, the high today is in the 70s. Tomorrow is the 40s. And no one wonders one bit why our allergies are all over the place. 🤧
TWO
To compound our already short week, Henry woke up Wednesday with a viral eye infection so he and I are home today from preschool. He has been dinosaur obsessed for a while now, and he’s not into little kid dinos- he’s all in on the real deal. He has spent all morning watching Jurassic World Dominion while also playing with his dinosaurs. He spent the first ten-ish minutes of the movie naming the different dino species for me. Should a three year old even be able to pronounce Brachiosaurus? Much less be able to identify it? These are the things that I wonder 😂. But I also really love hearing him talk about “Owen Gravy” (Owen Grady) and his “Rapterds” (Raptors).
If you have a dino lover, too, these are some of our favorite dinos to play with!
THREE
Are we the only ones with 972 Yeti cups? We’ve got all the Yetis as we’ve been somewhat of Yeti loyalists over the years. Mainly we use them for travel coffee mugs, especially Steven going to work. We have customized ones with the ranch logo and brand, and just standard color enamel ones as well.
So, we’ve got a lot of Yeti lids. I’ve tried since moving to wrangle all the Yeti lids, but couldn’t ever really find what I needed to keep them organized. We spent about a year with all the different lids in little organizer boxes in the cabinet (like one for mag lids, one for open lids, etc.). Then I stumbled across this on Amazon and it is a game changer!

There are several variations on Amazon and even Walmart, but I chose a metal two pronged option. I can fit 10 10-20 oz. lids on each prong (the prongs are skinny and flat, not round, so the opening of the lid just slides right on), plus I slid a few bigger (like the 14 and 30 oz) between the prongs. This takes up much less space in the cabinet and is way more organized than we used to be. Amazon for the win!
Happy Friday Eve! See y’all tomorrow!
