3 Thoughts on Thursday

Happy Thursday, friends! Here’s your three random thoughts for today!

ONE

We bought the kids several board and card games for Christmas to take to the new ranch cabin. Some early favorites have been Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, and Mexican Train/ Chickenfoot. I’ve also picked up these card game sets, Connect 4, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, and Uno All Wild. We are so excited to have just screen free weekends at the ranch playing together and learning to be good sports and how to follow rules 😉 We’ve been knocking out a game of Candyland most nights at home after dinner and it’s fun because the rounds are pretty short, so we can play more rounds if we want to spend more time, or just 1-2 if we want it knocked out quickly. What games should we check out or are we missing? Leave me suggestions in the comments!

TWO

We’ve been in our house for a little over a year, and I’m starting to go through and reorganize some from the initial setup when we moved in. You know when you’re unpacking you just kind of unpack where it makes sense at the time, but then as you use it, you realize that’s not really the best place or set up? The easiest case of this was moving our silverware drawer from the far edge of the kitchen by the coffee maker and cups/ glasses cabinet to the drawer set directly across from the dishwasher. No more walking around the island 900 times when putting silverware away!

One of my favorite reorganizations has been my makeup drawer. When we moved, I decided to start storing all my makeup in a drawer instead of a makeup bag. It’s easier to get to and not such a pain to get out and put away every day. I’ve used a handful of different drawer organizers and never completely loved them. They never completely fit in the drawer space and felt like I had a lot of wasted space. I found this silverware drawer organizer that has moveable/removable dividers and it has been perfect! It fits all the way across, so there is no wasted space, and I was able to adjust most of the sections to fit my different makeup types. Highly recommend!

THREE

We went back to school on Tuesday, and it’s been good to get back to our normal routine and moving forward. I will say I was a little sad to see them go though. Last school year was my first year to stay home with them full time. We got one year all together before Liv started full time school and what a gift!

Truly, it was a magical gift I wouldn’t trade for anything. They are growing so fast, and I don’t even want to blink and miss any of it. Even though there were obviously days that were more trying than others, having them both all to myself for a time was so special and I am so beyond thankful. So, routine and structure are great, but we got a little bit of our home together magic for a few weeks, and I miss it. Hugs, kisses, and snuggles on demand are totally underrated.

And that’s all for today! Happy Friday Eve! 😉
